2018 Estate Reserve Pinot Noir

Vineyard and Soil: Blakeslee Vineyard Estate is located on a Southeast facing slope of the Chehalem Mountains at an elevation of 500-500 feet. The Vineyard has been farmed sustainably since 2008, and is “LIVE” Certified.
Vintage Notes: Overall, the timing of the 2018 growing season was typical for Oregon. Mid-April bud break and early June bloom. There was a normal too hot growing season which allowed the fruit to ripen nicely to a desired brix of 24. Harvest date was 10/07/18.

Vinification and Aging: After harvesting, 75% of the grapes were destemmed, crushed and cold soaked for 7-10 days for color extraction and 25% whole cluster fermented in tank until desired dryness for alcohol and placed in 35% new French oak, and 65% neutral French oak barrels for 11 months of aging.
Description: The Blakeslee Estate Reserve Pinot Noir wine released from Blakeslee Vineyard Estate, is 100% Estate Pinot Noir, 35% Pommard 50% Dijon 115, 15% Dijon 777. Medium bodied with blackberry, cherry and tobacco on the nose. Bright cherries, anise, pipe tobacco enhance the palate. The legant tannins and balanced acidity linger on a medium finish offering mocha, black cherry, and pomegranate. To be ejoyed with food or on its own, now through 2028.
